Position Summary

The Beam Yard Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate layout, torch cutting, and organization of structural steel beams. This position requires precision, safety awareness, and a commitment to quality work in all weather conditions. You'll also support other yard operations including painting, rebar fabrication, and loading as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately lay out beams using specifications provided in TEKLA software

• Safely operate and maintain oxy-fuel torch equipment for beam cutting

• Inspect beams for quality, report damaged material, and update TEKLA to maintain live inventory

• Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and safe work area

• Assist other departments within the yard (paint, rebar, loading) as needed

What Makes You a Great Fit

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to read tape measure accurately (up to 1/16")

• Previous outdoor or industrial work experience is a plus

• Able to work in varying weather conditions

• Able to lift 50 lbs independently

• Able to stand, bend, stoop, and walk for long periods

• Dependable, detail-oriented, team player, eager to learn
