Artistree Community Arts Center is Hiring: Theatrical Carpenters for Urinetown
Location: South Pomfret, Vermont
Start Date: August 18, 2025
Contract Length: 3 weeks
Compensation: Competitive;mensurate with experience
Housing: On-site housing provided
Artistree Community Arts Center is seeking skilled and dependable Theatrical Carpenters to join our production team for the uing musical Urinetown. This is a hands-on opportunity to collaborate on an inventive and fast-paced build for a well-loved satirical musical in a supportive andmunity-focused environment.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Proven experience in theatrical carpentry, scenic construction, or related fields
Ability to interpret and build from design drawings and technical plans
Familiarity with standard scenic construction materials and tools, including safe use of power tools
Experience with load-in, strike, and troubleshooting set elements during tech or previews
Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the direction of the Technical Director or Scenic Designer
Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at height
Availability to work long hours, including up to 12-hour days, especially during tech and install
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and amitment to safe working practices
Reliable transportation to and from the venue
Bonus Skills (Not Required but Appreciated):
Rigging or automation knowledge
Painting, scenic artistry, or prop construction experience
Familiarity with musical theater production schedules
Positive attitude and sense of humor!
On-site housing will be provided to support visiting crew members. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a vibrant and weing artsmunity in the beautiful hills of Vermont.
