You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the ELECTRICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

* Ability to Installs, maintains, repairs, modifies, and tests various shipboard electrical systems, electrical controls, electrically operated equipment, electrical lights, and heavy equipment.
* Ability to Installs electrical pressure hull fittings, bulkhead fittings, and wire-ways.
* Ability to Tests and identifies various cables and circuits.
* Ability to Installs cables for IC circuits, auxiliary power, main propulsion instrumentation, sonar, radio, fire control and ASW systems.
* Ability to Repairs various ship's Reactor Control, indication and power systems.
