Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a long-term W2 contract position with a client in Louisville, Kentucky . The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in 2D drafting and detailing using Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 and experience in translating field data into accurate construction drawings. This role will also support station rearrangement efforts, bid packages, and cross-functional planning meetings. * No Corp-to-Corp; No C2C; No Referrals from C2C. Rate Range: $40.00/hour to $47.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Design Engineer job responsibilities include: Use Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 in both model and paper space to develop detailed layouts. Produce construction installation drawings and station rearrangement layouts. Develop section and elevation views to depict the layout and installation of new equipment. Translate field sketches, record drawings, as-built documentation, and verbal/written input into 2D CAD drawings. Apply advanced knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and electrical detailing. Conduct field checks to verify existing conditions and update cycle line layouts accordingly. Create clear, accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough sketches or notes. Lead and participate in cycle line layout meetings, updating material part numbers and documenting changes. Support the development of station layouts and facilitate equipment and tooling installations. Generate drawing packages for bid proposals and plant skilled trades. Qualifications: Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD 2024. Familiarity with model and paper space workflows. Strong working knowledge of CAD standards in civil, architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines. Experience conducting field verification and integrating field findings into drawings. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Strong time management, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in manufacturing environments, especially within automotive or industrial facilities.
