Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team in Newark, DE. This role is essential to producing components for solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generators. The Welder will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and will work fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret Work Instructions to determine welding requirements.
- Perform welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Position and clamp parts together using fixtures.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting and accurately counting pieces before welding.
- Operate welding equipment per the operating manual.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Operate hoists, power lift stands, and load/unload jigs.
- Perform leak testing on finished welding products.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure product quality.
- Maintain machine shop equipment and ensure 5S standards.
- Notify management of needed shop consumables to maintain inventory.
- Create assembly and fabrication fixtures and suggest improvements.
- Perform basic job functions safely and efficiently as directed.
- May require travel to other facilities within Delaware.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in TIG Welding (DC, AC, pulsed TIG), stick welding (SMAW), and Oxy-Acetylene Torch.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on manufacturing experience required; 2-3 years preferred.
- Experience following detailed work instructions required.
- Preferred experience with TIG welding on INCONEL/Stainless steel.
- Preferred experience interpreting welding prints.
- Preferred valid welding certification from an accredited institution.
- Mechanical skills and ability to use basic shop tools and equipment required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination required.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- May require wearing a respirator and passing a Fit test.
Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Fridays: May require overtime
Compensation:
- Pay: $24-$25/hr
Interview Requirements:
Candidates will be tested on TIG welding. Safety practices must be followed during testing. Written verification of welding credentials is required prior to testing. Misrepresentation of credentials will result in personal liability for any damages during testing.
