We are seeking a reliable and experienced Barge Operator/Crew Leader to join our team!
The Barge Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of barges used in the transportation of materials, and construction operations. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations while coordinating with crew members and other departments.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in barge operations or marine transport preferred.
Experienced in carpentry and heavy framing timbers.
Knowledge of marine safety procedures and cargo handling.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Min 5 years construction experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physically able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
