Job Title: Cybersecurity Architect
Location: Rockville, MD (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled
Cybersecurity Architect
to support a federal contract. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud-based systems, with a particular focus on the
Azure cloud environment
. This is a hybrid position requiring
3 days onsite
and
2 days remote
each week.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cybersecurity architecture and documentation for Client Azure-based systems.
Design and implement security frameworks, controls, and best practices in accordance with NIST, FISMA, and Client -specific policies.
Conduct risk assessments and threat modelling for cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams to ensure secure system architecture and integration.
Provide expert guidance on access control, data protection, network security, and incident response.
Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and support security audits and reviews.
Lead security reviews of new technologies and tools introduced into the Client environment.
Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats, mitigation techniques, and government compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
10+ years of
experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least
5+ years as a Security Architect
.
Experience working in
federal government environments
, preferably at HHS agencies.
Strong knowledge of
Azure security architecture
, tools, and services (e.g., Azure Defender, Sentinel, Security Center).
Familiarity with
NIST 800-53
,
FISMA
,
FedRAMP
, and
RMF
Proficiency in
cloud-native security
,
identity and access management (IAM)
,
network segmentation
, and
zero trust architecture
.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Certifications preferred:
CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), or similar
.
