This position contributes to the installation of natural gas infrastructure and appurtenances involving physical labor. The position may also be required to travel to various work locations based on Pike clients' needs and deliver optimum customer service. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEssential Functions:\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cul\u003e \u003cli\u003eWork safely while performing new construction, maintenance, replacement or repair work as it relates to natural gas polyethylene or steel infrastructure. \u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eFrequently works around live gas systems and other utilities during hand digging functions to locate said utilities.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eThis position exercises due care in protecting the utilities, other property, general public and coworkers.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eMaintains company vehicles, equipment and tools for proper working order.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to perform rigorous physical labor such as using a shovel, erection of road signs, use of pneumatic and engine driven equipment.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eUnderstand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eCapable of working on a team, receiving and following directions.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003ePossess a basic knowledge of materials used in natural gas infrastructure work.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003ePerforms operator qualification tasks by self or as directed.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eUnderstands the basic concepts of equipment set up.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eUnderstands excavation and shoring requirements.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eUnderstands when to wear personnel protective equipment.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eWorks in and excavates trenches and bell holes.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to identify different types of materials used in natural gas infrastructure work.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eMust be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eDoes all other related work as required to complete the job.\u003c/li\u003e \u003c/ul\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMinimum Requirements:\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cul\u003e \u003cli\u003eNo experience necessary.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to read and communicate effectively in English.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eValid driver's license\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eA Commercial Driver's License is strongly preferred.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to travel long distances on short notice, when required.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eAble to lift in excess of 50 lbs.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eWilling to work over-time when requested.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eHigh school diploma or equivalent.\u003c/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eWilling to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.\u003c/li\u003e \u003c/ul\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePhysical Demands:\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
