Operations Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing/Fabrication
Location: near Springfield, IL
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Typical Hours: Monday–Friday, 40-45 hours/week

Operations Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing/Fabrication Description
Our client, in industrial equipment manufacturing/fabrication, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the launch of their new fabrication/manufacturing facility near Springfield, IL. In this role, you will oversee facility launch activities, manage daily operations, and build a growing team from the ground up, backed by support from corporate. You’ll drive efficiency, safety, and quality across operations while working cross-functionally to align site performance with broader business goals. This is a hands-on leadership role within a dynamic, project-based production environment offering the opportunity to put your own stamp on the facilities’ operations.
Operations Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing/Fabrication Responsibilities
• Lead the launch and ramp-up of a new manufacturing facility
• Direct daily operations to meet safety, quality, and production targets
• Manage budgets, schedules, and facility resources
• Hire, train, and lead a multidisciplinary operations team
• Oversee preventive maintenance and capital equipment projects
• Improve workflows through structured processes and systems
• Ensure site compliance with regulatory and quality standards
• Foster a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
• Coordinate cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives
• Travel to other locations and supplier sites as needed
Operations Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing/Fabrication Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of project-based, industrial fabrication or manufacturing experience required
• 5+ years of operational leadership in a regulated industry experience required
• Experience launching or scaling production operations required
• Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
• Willingness/ability to travel (domestically and internationally) is required
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one required
