Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Trades Services.The Plumbing Supervisor is the senior
plumbing position within Trades Services at Boston College. The Supervisor oversees
and directs an Assistant Supervisor, Plumbing Operations position and thirteen (13)
union (SEIU) plumbers and is responsible for all aspects of plumbing maintenance and
operations for 8 million square feet across four campuses and 167 buildings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to potable water, hot water, steam, sanitary
sewer, process water and fire protection systems.

The Supervisor works closely with the Director, Trades Services and a separate
organization led by the Director of Engineering & Energy Management on plumbing
infrastructure. They also will oversee and manage small plumbing capital projects.

Must demonstrate a proven ability to administer multiple projects and ability to meet
deadlines

The Supervisor is overall responsible for the training, development, morale and
discipline of the entire plumbing shop.

Requires a minimum of 10 recent years of Plumbing related field service work,a
minimum of 3-5 recent years of managerial experience. Experience working with a
Union is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets and Drive) is
required. This position requires strong interpersonal and analytical skills, including the
demonstrable ability to make sound decisions based on available information under
emergency as well as normal conditions.
This position requires a Master Plumbers license and prefers a wastewater
certification/license.
Must maintain a valid drivers license.
This position is considered essential and must be able to respond to campus
emergencies at any time. Candidates must be able to physically walk campus and up
stairs and use ladders as a normal part of their duties.

Work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $102,150 to $127,700; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

*A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

*Requires a minimum of five years of recent supervisory experience in Mechanical trade.

*A minimum of a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Master Plumber license required.

*A proven track record with continuous professional development in Mechanical field must be demonstrated.

*Familiarity with computer programs, such as MS Word, Excel and File maker Pro and a demonstrated aptitude to learn computer programs used by the University is a must.

*A current valid driver's license is required.

Preferred:

*Experience in a Union environment and in Higher Education is preferred.
