Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Construction Manager to support our Denver, CO market.
Role Overview:
The Construction Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities pertaining to the daily operation of the outside fiber plant to include estimating, engineering, permitting, contracting, designing and maintenance of new fiber optic network build projects and existing fiber facility relocations. Responsible for design and development of complex outside plant (OSP) equipment installations, modifications and upgrades. Ensures fiber splice records, network topography records and fiber mapping and as-builts are accurately tracked in corporate inventory systems. Works closely with other carriers, engineering firms, local/ state agencies and building owners/landlords on new building adds and relocations. Position also requires the capability to manage subordinate personnel. From project qualification and design through punch-list and close-out, the Construction Manager will ensure that projects are completed to client and internal specification, on time, and within budget. This role will provide emergency response support for network outages and restoration coordination.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent job experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years OSP Engineering and Construction experience. In the telecommunications industry preferred.
- Key Competencies:
- Strong OSP construction knowledge with ability to read/red-line construction drawings to facilitate new build, relocations and emergency repairs.
- Understanding of OSP permitting, engineering, vendor management, fiber splicing, project management and aerial/underground installation/repairs methods of fiber optic facilities.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must be self-motivated and able to accomplish objectives with accountability.
- Ability to analyze problems and determine resolution in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Results driven with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Be able to multi task while managing the team.
- Must maintain professionalism and positive service attitude at all times.
