Fall 2025 Student Employment - Theatre Carpenter

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Carpenter to join our theatre team. This part-time position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, where you will play a vital role in building sets, furniture, and props for our theater productions. Key Responsibilities:

• Follow design plans accurately to construct sets, furniture, and props.
• Utilize power tools safely and effectively for various building tasks.
• Participate in set painting and finishing work.
• Assist with the loading in and tearing down of productions.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure project goals are met.
• Take initiative on projects, demonstrating creativity and problem-solving skills.
• Ask for assistance and clarification when needed, particularly with project execution or design plans.

Qualifications:

• Comfortable using power tools and basic carpentry skills.
• Ability to read and understand design plans.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively.
• Previous experience in carpentry or technical theater (preferred but not required).

Employment Specifications: Work-Study preferred, but not required.

Approximate Hours/Week: 10 hours per week

Special Time/Schedule Requirements: Flexible

Length of Employment: Academic Year

Wage Rate: $12.50/hour
