Estimator

Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, project requirements, related documents, and attend pre-bid meetings to develop strategies necessary to complete accurate bids. Prepare proposal based on customer requirements by doing a detailed material take-off, getting competitive pricing, and preparing a labor estimate of total hours. Work with purchasing department to get best material pricing from our vendors. If needed, contact vendors directly. Work with sales department to prioritize all requests for quotes and then manage time to ensure all requests get handled properly, efficiently and on time. Follow-up on completed jobs: Obtain a job close-out report. Summarize the job report and file for reference in the estimating department. Discuss any major project with engineering, operations and president of company to ensure all areas are covered and that we are quoting best pricing and delivery. Willingness to travel with sales department to visit potential customers and discuss specifics of an upcoming project. Assist management when and as required. Other duties as assigned Prepares cost estimates by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents; analyzing labor, material and time requirements; assembling and arranging numerical and description information; collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
