Position Summary

The Product Engineering position focuses on designing and developing new or existing products, components, or assemblies. An Experienced Professional position applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. This position must be able to work independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electronic systems for air accessory kits, including PCB layout, embedded firmware, and system integration.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronics into vehicle platforms.
  • Experience with wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) and mobile app integration.
  • Develop and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct and/or lead supplier validation testing for electrical components and systems, including EMC, thermal, and vibration testing.
  • Support prototype builds and field testing activities.
  • Interface with suppliers for component selection, sourcing, system development, validation testing, and manufacturing support.
  • Assist Sales and Tech Line Support teammates in troubleshooting and resolving field issues related to electronic systems, including warranty reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel to plants, supplier locations, and more up to 15% or so
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with air compressor systems and pressure sensors.
  • Knowledge of automotive EMC standards and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety principles.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, OrCAD).

Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming (e.g., C/C++).

Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, lead cross functional teams, and meet deadlines.
