Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering functions at Creech Air Force Base (CAFB). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structural engineering services for the planning, design, renovation, maintenance, and construction of real property facilities and utility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct facility inspections to identify deficiencies and support infrastructure maintenance planning.
  • Prepare structural designs, layouts, specifications, and engineering documentation (e.g., SOWs, SOOs, IGCEs).
  • Review A&E and in-house designs for maintainability, compatibility, and structural soundness.
  • Manage and monitor construction projects from planning through completion, including site surveys and as-built reviews.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, utility providers, and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with contract specifications, timelines, and safety/environmental standards.
  • Support technical reviews of construction proposals, change orders, and cost estimates.
  • Use design and project management software (CADD, estimating tools, tracking systems) to execute and monitor work.
  • Stay updated on structural engineering technologies and best practices.
  • Occasionally assist in base development planning, programming, and economic analysis for various facility projects.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 6 years of project management or design experience with a U.S.-based firm within the last 10 years
  • Knowledge of U.S. building codes, safety and environmental regulations
  • Must be willing to complete required AFIT courses (WMGT 322, WMGT 422, WENG 200, WENG 400) unless already certified.
