Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to join our team. This role involves reading customer architectural and mechanical plans and using CAD software to create precise drawings for both customer and manufacturing processes. The drafter will work closely with engineers and experienced staff, developing drawings based on designs and sketches provided. It is essential to understand customer requirements from quotations and specifications and possess a working knowledge of drafting fundamentals, including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scaling using both English and metric units of measure. The drafter will create drawings that involve checking dimensions of parts, documenting materials, and verifying the form, fit, and function of parts within assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret customer architectural and mechanical plans.
  • Utilize CAD software to generate drawings for customer and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop drawings based on designs and sketches provided by engineers or experienced staff.
  • Understand and incorporate customer requirements from quotations and specifications.
  • Apply drafting fundamentals, including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scaling using English and metric units.
  • Create drawings that involve checking dimensions of parts, documenting materials, and verifying form, fit, and function of parts in assemblies.
  • Follow directions and learn company-specific drafting standards.
  • Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines, and various building materials.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand customer architectural and mechanical plans.
  • Skillful use of CAD software for creating detailed drawings.
  • Understanding of standard dimensioning practices and scaling with English and metric units.
  • Experience in checking dimensions and documenting materials for parts in assemblies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge in 2D AutoCAD and 2D Design.
  • Background in mechanical design, specifically with dampers and louvers.
  • Familiarity with Revit, sheet metal, and blueprint architecture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
