About the Role

doTERRA is seeking a Frontend Architect to own and drive a unified, high-quality frontend experience across our Leader Tools and eCommerce platforms. This strategic role is responsible for the design system, component library, and frontend governance, ensuring scalable and consistent experiences across all customer and leader-facing applications.

As a cross-functional leader, you will partner closely with the Director of eCommerce and Director of Leader Tools to align technical delivery with product vision. You will act as a force multiplier for development teams by delivering reusable UI architecture and enabling teams to build faster, better, and more consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect & Lead Frontend Strategy : Define, evolve, and document the frontend architecture for eCommerce and Leader Tools applications, aligning with product strategy and user expectations.
  • Own the Design System : Build, maintain, and scale a centralized design system and component library, ensuring brand consistency and usability across all interfaces.
  • Govern Frontend Standards : Establish and enforce design system adoption, code standards, and architectural best practices across all frontend projects.
  • Partner Across Product Areas : Serve as a shared service to the eCommerce and Leader Tools product teams, ensuring both areas benefit from shared design, components, and technology.
  • Mentor & Guide Developers : Provide technical guidance and governance to full-stack and frontend developers, conduct reviews, and enable successful adoption of patterns and tooling.
  • Ensure Consistency & Accessibility : Champion pixel-perfect UI, responsiveness, performance, accessibility (WCAG), and localization standards in all experiences.
  • Tooling & Documentation : Deliver excellent tooling and documentation to support developer self-service and cross-team collaboration.
  • Drive Innovation : Stay ahead of trends in frontend frameworks, design system architecture, and development workflows to continually modernize our frontend ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in frontend or full-stack development, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or architectural role.
  • Deep expertise in React and Vue, with strong proficiency in modern frontend development using TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with meta-frameworks such as Next.js (React) and Nuxt (Vue), including an understanding of SSR, SSG, and ISR rendering strategies.
  • Strong background in component-driven development, modular architecture, and scalable design systems.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Storybook, Chromatic, Figma integrations, design tokens, and component documentation workflows.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), performance optimization, and responsive design principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and enforce frontend governance, including coding conventions, component versioning, testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a history of cross-functional impact across product, design, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in eCommerce, web content management systems, loyalty platforms and complex multi-role user systems.
  • Familiarity with monorepo management tools (e.g., Nx, Turborepo) and visual testing pipelines.
  • Experience with API integration patterns (REST, GraphQL) and coordination with backend teams.
  • Contributions to open-source design systems or frontend libraries.
  • Competence in UX/UI principles
