Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
Support all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirement
Root cause analysis of system/component issues and/or failure
Researching and reviewing ship's structural and electrical drawings to support system integration
2D and 3D modeling design and drafting of mechanical and electrical assemblies
Prototyping
Inspection and acceptance of material received from procurement or fabrication
Factory acceptance testing
Support all aspects of technical data package (TDP) development (i.e., Temporary Alterations = TEMPALT)
Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklists
Ship check and fit check of submarines
Support all aspects of system testing and documentation, including but not limited to:
electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
hydrostatic testing (10 cycle)
cybersecurity/information assurance
Support fleet troubleshooting efforts
Support the creation of departures from specification (DFS)
Engage with traditional and Agile project management processes and systems engineering processes
Identify and remove obstacles in the workflow
Support with presentations and briefs to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- 3 years of experience on multi-disciplinary teams supporting Submarine system development, system integration, and alteration package development.
- Have an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr. - USD $129,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
