Metal Worker (2nd Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Metal Workers operate at a fast pace on projects that require precision. They are exposed to chemicals, loud noises and equipment that is both automated and manual. Operators are expected to follow employee safety standards by adhering to both environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for one function, while others are responsible for a variety of steps, utilizing different equipment for each
• Safety and cleanliness in the workplace are extremely important
• Work in an environment where teamwork is important
• Look over and measure parts with precision tools in order to make sure certain parts meet pre-determined quality and cosmetic standards
• Expected to meet production quotas
• Level of documentation required varies, depending on the degree of precision needed for the finished product
• Keep track of the number of units that are scrapped due to various errors
• Experience working with hand tools & machine grinders
• Must be able to operate during 2nd Shift work hours

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to read, interpret, blueprints and schematics
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment is a typical manufacturing/ production environment.
