We are seeking a **Civil Engineer II - Transportation (ENG Roadway Engineer 2)** to join our Chicago, IL team! Come join us!

**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**

**Project planning and design assistance**

+ Analyzing plans and data: Reviewing survey reports, maps, record drawings, plans, and other data to aid in planning and designing projects.

+ Conducting preliminary design: Creating designs for project components such as roadways, drainage systems, site layouts, and grading under supervision.

**Technical documentation and analysis**

+ Ensure all roadway design and construction activities align with jurisdictional standards.

+ Utilizing design software: Using CAD software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads, for drafting and design.

**Communication and collaboration**

+ Internal and external communication: Effectively communicating project status, concerns, and solutions to managers, team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

+ Participating in meetings: Attending project status meetings, pre-construction meetings, and other discussions to provide technical input and updates.

+ Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams: Working effectively with planners, surveyors, civil engineers, and other disciplines.

**Minimum requirements:**

+ Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a closely related field.

+ Candidates with a different degree may be considered if licensed in Illinois and possess equivalent experience

+ 26 years of professional experience in transportation engineering.

+ Relevant experience in areas such as project management, business development, or wetland delineations

+ Additional desired skills or certifications may be considered based on project needs.

**Technical requirements:**

+ IL EIT or IL PE certification preferred; ability to obtain within 6 months acceptable

+ Strong oral and technical writing skills required

+ Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word required; familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads preferred.

**Other miscellaneous qualities:**

+ No travel required; all work will be based in the Chicago area.
