Join Our Team as a Robot Operator at Epiroc!
This Robot Operator role is responsible to operate and maintain the IGM and/or Wolf welding robots, tools, and equipment in a safe & efficient manner to achieve required quality and production standards. Required to perform all position welding and operate a variety of hand and air tools as needed. The Robot Operator must have excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and correct issues quickly and efficiently. Specifically, you'll:
Review job orders, bring in the required material into the shop from the warehouse.
Fabricate part(s) to blueprint specification using appropriate machine(s).
Able to determine good and bad weld quality, able to monitor and change consumable wire
Able to follow standardized work instructions, and monitor/fix with wire feeder/wire feeder brackets.
Operate over head crane in a safe manner in accordance with company safety protocols.
Organize paperwork (production reports, day-by-hour, Smart Sheets, etc.) to ensure jobs are completed as per company standards.
Perform scheduled (daily, weekly and monthly) preventative maintenance in the workstation/ work area.
Operate forklift to bring the completed job orders to other departments when required.
Effectively & safely use tools such as grinders, cutoff wheels, air arcs, etc..
Understand and correctly utilize simple pauses/resume programs, play & stop programs, and run program(s) for TCP checks.
Assist the with 5S organization & cleaning initiatives: lean manufacturing, productivity improvements, and maintaining key metrics in the overall performance.
Adhere to all safety (LOTO), health and environmental procedures, policies and practices and report any potential hazards to supervisor.
Follow safety chain protocols (light curtains, operator reset buttons, door latches, etc.) at all times.
Escalate all issues and stoppages, recognize bad parts, follow all robotic safety processes, and power up/power down welding power sources repeatedly.
Ability to drive robot to home safety position, straighten & service neck, and pause & resume robotic programming systems.
Changeover tools and manipulate robotic arms, external axes, and coordinates
Attend meetings and training as required.
Any other duties assigned that fall within the employee's capabilities.
Knowledge/Education:
Minimum of 1+ years' experience in a heavy-duty machining/ manufacturing environment,
Experience with Robotic Welding preferred
High school diploma
Able to read a tape measure & blueprint(s)
Basic understanding of coordinate systems
Experienced in driving forklift and overhead crane required.
Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer skills required, and good organizational, prioritizing & problem-solving skills.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork, and self-directed with ability to take initiative.
Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with ad-hoc issues when required.
Attention to detail required.
