This position works in the Maintenance Section loced in the Veterans Administrion Medical Center Louisville, Kentucky. The purpose of the position is to perform repairs, rebuilding, retrofitting, and maintaining a variety of multi-function building infrastructure equipment by using a preventive maintenance program (PM) of facilities structure, assigned utility systems, and non-medical equipment.
Installs, modifies and repairs, new and existing high and low pressure piping systems and equipment, such as steam heing, steam generors, expansion tanks, condense, radiors, steam traps and control and temperure reguling valves.
Independently troubleshoots, diagnoses, plans and completes installions/repairs using blueprints, sketches, work orders and other specificions.
May be required to opere trucks, tractors, and grounds equipment to maintain grounds, parking lots, snow removal, merial handling and general hauling necessary for maintenance.
Work with nural gas, air compressors, air systems, vacuum pumps and vacuum systems, high pressure steam, compactor sterilizers, hot and cold wer systems, and with all the associed valves, regulors, traps and controls commonly used with each.
Plumbing responsibilities involve installing, modifying and repairing or new and existing Utility supply and disposal systems equipment such as drains, traps, wer lines and valves, sinks, commodes, urinals and sterilizers, eye wash stions and back flow preventions.
