$18.08 To $25.37 Annually

Purpose:Fabricates steel and aluminum parts from drawings using brake, radial drill, saw, punch press, and hand tools.Essential Job Functions:Operate equipment and ensure routine maintenance is performed. Saw and bend material to various shapesOperate and set up saw and drill to proper speeds and feedsProgram miters using band sawOperate bar code scanner/computer (SAP) to record labor time and pick material to be usedOperate press brake using the correct diesDetermine the correct bend line and tooling using bend allowancesDeburr flame-cut parts by using grindersMove incoming steel to proper bin locationsMeasure, examine, and inspect completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specificationsDispose of any hazardous waste according to Schwing guidelinesAssist in resolving maintenance issuesOther duties as assignedRequirements:Physical Demands:Perform work in the plant facility 100% of the timeLift up to 50 pounds, as neededEducation/Skills/Experience:High School diploma or equivalent2+ years? experience using fabrication equipmentMathematical aptitude and ability to measure and construct geometric shapesExcellent problem solving and trouble shooting skillsStrong interpersonal and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of various types of sheet metal, tubing, pipes and shapes (angel, channels, bar)Familiarity with computers to look up work instructions, track labor and other tasks as needed2+ years? experience using material handling equipment (forklifts and overhead cranes)
