Key Responsibilities:
Manage projects to ensure profitability
Participate in project resource planning
Monitor and improve crew productivity
Identify and pursue bidding opportunities
Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates
Obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors
Collaborate with engineers for final project design
Adhere to and enforce company policies and safety procedures
Ensure proper use and maintenance of company equipment
Interpret project plans and specifications
Oversee projects from bidding through completion
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy highway, bridge, and/or railroad construction
Proficiency in reading engineering plans and specifications
Basic computer skills for reporting and communication
Experience with estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid preferred)
Familiarity with accounting software and job cost tracking
Strong focus on safety standards and practices
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to obtain necessary site clearances (e.g., E-railsafe)
Understanding of heavy equipment such as cranes, excavators, and pile drivers
