Master Scheduler

We are seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and collaborative Master Scheduler to lead our production scheduling efforts. This role is critical in aligning manufacturing capacity with customer demand and inventory goals to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.

• Develop, maintain, and adjust the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to support customer requirements, inventory targets, and manufacturing capabilities.

• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Procurement teams to align schedules with capacity and material availability.

• Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, lead times, and production capacity to plan work orders and optimize throughput.

• Monitor and communicate schedule adherence, adjusting as needed to meet delivery commitments.

• Coordinate with purchasing and materials teams to ensure timely arrival of raw materials and components.

• Identify risks in the production schedule and proactively recommend solutions to avoid delays or bottlenecks.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, lead time reduction, and production efficiency.

• Maintain ERP system data accuracy for work orders, schedules, and BOMs.

• Report on KPIs including schedule attainment, OTIF (on time in full), and capacity utilization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.) and MS Excel.

• APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and capacity planning.

• Experience in make-to-order or mixed-mode manufacturing.

• Familiarity with S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes.

• Typical office environment with time spent on the production floor.

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

• Must be able to lift or move materials up to 25 lbs.
