Electrician III

Working under the Electrical Department Manager, the Electrician builds, installs, and services a variety of electrical systems on varying types of industrial equipment.

• Must be able to install and wire electrical components and controls, performing all work from prints or general direction.
• Must have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical machine components, electronic circuits and mechanical systems.
• Must have strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Requires skill in the use of electrical hand tools.
• Review all electrical travelers and prints upon release from engineering.
• Assist with machine debug, checkout, and testing.
• Unwire and prep machines for shipment.
• Assist with scheduling all electrical work.
• Assist with any electrical support requirements in foam plant.
• Maintain electrical assembly area, including all related tools and equipment.
• Maintain electrical safety, including PPE, building codes and company guidelines.

Qualifications:

• 2 yrs Schooling in Electricity, Journeyman’s Papers or 5 yrs plus experience in Electrical Trade.
• Be able to read both electrical schematics and mechanical layouts to assist in assembly.
• PLC and Drive Experience a Plus.
• Strong trouble shooting skills a Plus.
• Must be organized and pay attention to details.
• Must have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical machine components, electronic circuits, and mechanical systems.
• Familiar with Electrical Panel Assembly, drilling, tapping and mechanical assembly of enclosures.
• Familiar with wiring of electrical and electronic components.
• Familiar with labeling and tagging wires.
• Familiar with specialty cables such as shielded cables and working with multi-conductor cables.
• Familiar with soldering.
• Well versed in the handling of electrical hand tools, strippers, crimpers.
• Versed in bending and running conduit.
• Well versed in using Electrical Test Equipment, Multi-meters, Amp Probes etc.
• Maintain electrical safety, building codes and company guidelines.
• Must have own hand tools. Specialty crimpers, heat guns and special tools like solder stations will be provided.
