Maintenance Supervisor

This position reports to the Regional Chief and serves regionally as needed. On a day-to-day basis, this position rotates through Aiken State Park, Misty Lake State Park, and Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site, with required weekend rotations. Direct, coordinate, and schedule needed maintenance of grounds, facilities & equipment to ensure established standards are being met. Supervise and train staff in all job aspects. Perform and direct routine or standardized duties.

1) Directs and performs miscellaneous repairs and park improvements, to include carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing and painting to meet established standards.
2) Directs and performs clean-up and housekeeping activities to assure the attractiveness, cleanliness, and safety of park grounds and facilities. This position is the Safety Officer for Misty Lake and assists with safety duties at Aiken and Redcliffe.
3) Plans and schedules the park maintenance program on a daily basis. Participates in planning winter work projects and the completion of these projects in a timely fashion.
4) Supervise park technicians, maintenance rangers, and part-time employees to include training and scheduling work and projects.
5) Assists with the operation of the park by completing related forms and reports, ordering & stocking supplies for general maintenance & janitorial duties.
6) Directs or performs repairs of manual & motorized equipment, especially that which is used in his/her area, including pumps, vacuums, floor cleaning machines, mowers, landscaping equipment, woodworking equipment, and hand tools.
7) Assists Regional Maintenance Supervisor in major maintenance or improvement projects around the region, including but not limited to Misty Lake, Aiken, and Redcliffe. Practice and promote teamwork within the Sandhills Region, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders.

High school graduate and four (4) years of related maintenance experience. A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements:

1) Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other materials, tools, and equipment used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
2) Licensed or competent in electrical, plumbing and carpentry trades. Should be able to read and understand written procedures and directions, understand blueprints, and be able to write specifications for materials.
3) Must possess a valid S.C. driver's license.

Actual Job Location: Misty Lake State Park

Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
