Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with 6+ years of experience in commercial architecture to lead the design and execution of tenant improvement and vacant space turnover projects within our in-house commercial real estate portfolio. This role will collaborate closely with our Commercial Leasing and Lease Administration teams to deliver tailored design solutions aligned with tenant needs, lease terms, and portfolio strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to oversee multiple fast-paced projects. Licensure is preferred but not required. A professional degree in architecture is required.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary liaison between the Architecture Department and the firms Commercial Leasing and Lease Administration teams.
- Manage multiple tenant fit-out and vacant space turnover projects concurrently, from test fits through construction completion.
- Coordinate all phases of project development, including programming, design, documentation, and construction administration, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Direct in-house architectural staff and external consultants, delegating tasks and providing oversight to ensure high-quality, code-compliant, and buildable solutions.
- Conduct site visits, assess existing conditions, and develop test fit plans and scope narratives to support leasing and tenant negotiations.
- Oversee preparation of permit drawings, landlord work packages, and coordination with municipal building departments and code officials.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and keep projects on schedule.
- Monitor budgets, timelines, and deliverables for each assigned project; identify risks early and proactively implement solutions.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior project managers and architectural staff as needed.
- Report regularly to senior leadership on project progress, tenant-specific challenges, and department workflow.
- Professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited program
- 6 + years of experience in architectural practice, with a focus on commercial tenant fit-outs, retail, or office space design.
- Experience working directly with leasing teams, property managers, or commercial tenants strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and MS Office tools is a plus.
- Architectural licensure preferred but not required.
