Senior Estimator - Excavation & Grading

Position: Senior Estimator – Civil Construction Industry: Civil Construction / Excavation & Grading Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview: Our company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our civil construction team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of estimating experience in excavation and grading projects, with exposure to commercial, residential, and quarry/mining projects preferred. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision and provide high-level support to the estimating department. Proficiency with Agtek and Bluebeam software is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for excavation, grading, and civil construction projects

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop complete takeoffs

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates reflect constructability and project requirements

• Support the estimating department with high-level analysis and bid strategy

• Maintain historical cost databases and update estimating templates

• Participate in bid presentations and client meetings as needed

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering

Qualifications:

• 5–7 years of estimating experience in excavation, grading, and civil construction projects

• Experience with commercial, residential, and quarry/mining projects preferred

• Proficiency with Agtek and Bluebeam software

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
