Job Description We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead architectural and engineering efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects. This long-term remote contract role involves managing both internal architecture project managers and external consultants responsible for all aspects of design, documentation, and specifications-including architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and environmental disciplines.
The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, strong design sensibility, and deep experience in project execution. This role requires cross-functional coordination, vendor oversight, and the ability to define and uphold design standards. Candidates should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving initiatives, and managing virtual teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership
- Own design governance for assigned project types and associated standards
- Review and approve architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
- Incorporate lessons learned from pilot and completed projects
- Continuously improve design specifications, policies, and standards
- Stay current with industry best practices
- Influence key stakeholders and guide design decisions
Team Leadership
- Lead internal Architecture & Engineering team, including architects, designers, engineers, and support staff
- Provide direction, feedback, and performance management to support team development
Program Management
- Collaborate with business teams to clarify project and program scope
- Identify and execute strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and support business needs
- Provide budget allocation support as needed
Quality Control & Vendor Management
- Oversee external design partners, including:
- Quality control
- Soft cost approvals
- Workload management
- A&E training
- Permit tracking
- Construction documentation and closeout
- SLA and KPI monitoring
- Ensure compliance with building codes and zoning regulations
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in architecture, engineering, design, and related processes
- Strong understanding of construction types, documents, specifications, and materials
- Proficiency in reading and preparing technical drawings and documentation
- Excellent communication, design, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading internal teams and external consultants
- Strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
- High attention to detail and accountability
- Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), Excel, Word, Adobe, Bluebeam, Photoshop, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or technical degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Interior Design (or equivalent experience)
- Professional license to practice architecture preferred but not required
- LEED Green Certification or other sustainability credentials preferred but not required
