Job Description The Structural Engineer will be responsible for conducting structural analysis using static or response spectra for seismic and other load combinations according to plant criteria. This role involves designing equipment and piping supports, building structural frames, and foundations, as well as performing piping or pipe support analysis per ASME Section III or B31.1 design. The engineer will also be involved in lifting assembly, rigging, or crane designs, adhering to AISC steel and ACI concrete design codes, component stress analysis using GTSTRUDL or ANSYS, plant impact reviews and evaluations, and assessing existing structures to develop retrofit designs. Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis for seismic and other load combinations per plant criteria.
- Design equipment and piping supports, building structural frames, and foundations.
- Perform piping or pipe support analysis per ASME Section III or B31.1 design.
- Design lifting assembly, rigging, or crane structures using applicable codes.
- Adhere to AISC steel and ACI concrete design codes for designs.
- Perform component stress analysis using tools such as GTSTRUDL or ANSYS.
- Review and evaluate plant impacts, and assess existing structures for retrofit designs.
- Experience in structural design and structural analysis.
- Proficiency with design codes such as AISC, ASCE, and ACI.
- Knowledge of Matlab and structural engineering principles.
- Ability to perform design reviews and stress analysis.
- Minimum of 4 years experience, ideally 7+ years in design and analysis for Nuclear Power Plants and Industrial Facilities.
- Experience with static structural analyses, structural dynamics, seismic analysis.
- BS degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from a US-accredited college.
- Proficiency in MathCAD is preferred.
- Good communication skills for report writing, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
