Furnace Operator - 8th Shift**

**Job Description**

We are seeking a dedicated Furnace Operator to join our team. This role involves performing various cleaning quality inspections, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the setup of a vacuum atomization furnace. You will work with both verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks before, during, and after the atomization process.

**Responsibilities**

+ Assist in preparing raw material charges and running the furnace control board.

+ Conduct minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and other auxiliary equipment.

+ Clean the atomization chamber and carry out housekeeping duties.

+ Assist in the removal and replacement of furnace lid and coils.

+ Clean the interior of the furnace chamber and 'O' ring seal.

+ Clean raw material charge and transport it to the charge area.

+ Attach and detach gas, electric, and water lines to the furnace lid and tank.

+ Utilize an electric hoist to remove and replace the furnace lid from the furnace chamber.

+ Clean inside of crucibles, patch cracks, and perform other repair tasks of crucible prior to next run.

+ Adhere to CORE guidelines and perform CORE duties as required.

+ Adhere to all EH&S guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as a respirator and mask.

+ Carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level, to support department objectives and develop skills.

+ Work overtime as needed.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience in a production setting working with machines as a general production worker, machine operator, or plant laborer.

+ Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.

+ Reliable transportation to make it to work on time each day, as the position is not near bus routes.

+ Experience in machine operation, general production, repair, and quality control.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent.

+ U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.

+ Ability to work from heights up to 60 feet.

+ Able to wear a respirator.

+ Physically capable of bending, lifting, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching, standing on feet for long periods up to 8 hours, climbing stairs, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently.

**Work Environment**

Work on the 8th shift, Monday through Thursday (4x10), from 10 pm to 8 am, with a 10% differential.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clayville, New York.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
