Construction Superintendent
Job Description

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, and up to high-quality standards, while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves overseeing safety compliance, craft supervision, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reporting, quality control, and craft training. The Superintendent's duties may vary as required to support the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure job safety by incorporating safety measures into planning and execution, promoting accountability, and actively participating in safety-related functions.
  • Maintain high-quality standards on all projects, addressing repetitive quality issues with subcontractors or vendors.
  • Develop and implement pre-job plans, making necessary adjustments and creating material handling and site utilization plans.
  • Participate in project scheduling to ensure compliance with job planning.
  • Complete specific tasks during pre-job planning sessions for mobilization.
  • Coordinate and supervise company workforces, including the hiring and firing of hourly personnel.
  • Develop Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft persons.
  • Evaluate, develop, and retain personnel by setting goals, providing feedback, and recommending promotions, transfers, or terminations.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, holding weekly meetings with subcontractors' Foremen.
  • Develop forms detailing special construction methods for job efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost records, studying labor recaps and cost controls to address budget issues.
  • Expedite vendors and subcontractors daily and weekly.
  • Inspect material received for quantity and quality, ensuring proper documentation and submission.
  • Review equipment needs with supervisors.
  • Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, ensuring owners are aware of schedule changes and potential conflicts.
  • Maintain sensitivity to customer or neighbor requirements for satisfactory relations.
  • Maintain project logs.
Essential Skills
  • Experience managing or overseeing installation of low voltage building systems.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in Electrical / Low Voltage Systems.
  • Supervision of Communications Systems Installation.
  • Supervision of Outside / Inside Plant Cabling Installation.
  • Supervision of Structured Cabling Systems Installation.
  • Credentials such as PMP or BICSI - RTPM (Certified Technology Project Manager).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • BICISI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD Registered Designer.
  • Experience as Security Systems Integrator.
  • Experience as Audio Visual Systems Integrator.
  • Experience as Communication System Integrator.
  • Preferred Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, or Business.
  • Professional accreditations like DBIA, LEED.
Work Environment

The role involves working on large Meta Data Center projects, which require attention to detail and familiarity with advanced technologies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
