Electrical Manager I- Solar

Mortenson seeks an experienced Electrical Manager I to join our Solar group to lead projects with flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism. Responsibilities include anticipating and solving problems, managing project quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the project team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing exceptional service.

If you have utility scale solar experience and are looking for a challenging opportunity to utilize your electrical expertise while leading a project team on the largest integrated solar and battery project in North America, then this is the right role for you.

Current Location: CA (Fresno and surrounding area)

Travel: This is a 100% travel position, and locations may vary based on the project. This specific project has an estimated duration of at least a year with an opportunity to last longer. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage overall financial health of projects

Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections

Allocate project estimate into financial system and determine cost codes

Approve invoices and manage budget decisions

Provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment

Create monthly owner billings

Manage subcontracts and suppliers, including contract buyouts

Oversee budget and select trade partners and suppliers

Manage Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, including job assignments and career development

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field

Minimum eight years of electrical construction management and/or electrical design experience

Minimum one year of experience with project completion from mobilization to turnover

Proficiency in medium and high voltage technical knowledge

Specialized knowledge/experience in electrical control, substations, battery, t-line, etc. preferred

Utility scale solar project experience preferred

Self-perform experience preferred

SCADA experience preferred

Current driver's license

Knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code

Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks

Basic understanding of construction law and business practices

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications

Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills

Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies

Active listening skills and effective communication

Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $122,600 MIN - $183,900 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
