HVAC Service Technician

Location: East Bradford, PA
Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $50.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking multiple HVAC Service Technician. Travel within the greater Philly area.

Core Technical Skills

• System installation (residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC units)
• Preventive maintenance (filter changes, belt replacements, coil cleaning, lubrication)
• Electrical troubleshooting (motors, contactors, relays, fuses, control wiring)
• Refrigeration cycle knowledge (evaporator, condenser, compressor, metering device operation)
• Brazing and soldering
• Refrigerant handling & recovery (EPA 608 compliance)
• Pressure testing & leak detection (nitrogen pressure test, electronic leak detectors, soap bubble testing)
• Thermostat & controls programming (including smart thermostats and building automation systems)
• Ductwork fabrication & repair (sheet metal layout, sealing, insulation)
• Heat pump servicing (air-source, geothermal, variable-speed)
• Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF/VRV) systems installation and service
• Boiler and chiller maintenance (hydronic heating/cooling systems)
• Air & water balancing (static pressure measurement, airflow adjustments)

Diagnostic & Problem-Solving Skills

• Reading electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
• Using multimeters, manometers, and psychrometers effectively
• Diagnosing airflow problems (static pressure, duct leakage, restrictions)
• Identifying refrigeration cycle faults (low superheat, high subcooling, short cycling)
• System performance analysis for comfort complaints

Advanced & Emerging Skills

• Building Automation Systems (BAS) integration and troubleshooting
• Energy efficiency optimization (SEER/EER ratings, economizers, heat recovery systems)
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) setup & troubleshooting
• Electromechanical troubleshooting (integrating HVAC with electrical and plumbing systems)
