Entry Level Electrical Engineer

We are seeking talented individuals with an Engineering degree to join our team as Distribution Engineers and Technicians. These roles are primarily focused on Distribution projects. Successful candidates will benefit from training provided by advanced level Distribution Engineers. The position involves performing engineering calculations such as structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices. Additionally, responsibilities include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, developing a Bill of Materials (BOM), and estimating costs. Design development and coordination constitute the majority of the role, with fieldwork required occasionally after several months on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and protective device coordination.
  • Prepare forestry trimming requests and facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition.
  • Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and estimate project costs.
  • Focus on design development and coordination for distribution projects (90% of the time).
  • Perform occasional fieldwork after several months in the role (10% of the time).
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in power distribution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Completed ABET-accredited 4-year Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Passion and interest in Power Utilities and Distribution.
  • CAD Design Experience in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, MATLAB, etc.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $29.81/hr.
