We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support land surveying activities across a diverse range of energy projects, including distribution electric, gas, electric transmission jobs, and substations. The role is field-intensive and plays a critical part in collecting, analyzing, and recording accurate land data that supports engineering and construction efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Lead field survey operations, including plan & profile surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction staking.
- Gather and record survey data using survey GPS, laser scanners, and trimble equipment.
- Act as a field liaison between Engineering, Design, and Survey departments.
- Research land records and resolve field discrepancies in real time.
- Download, organize, and validate field data for use by office personnel.
- Assist with final documents and/or drawings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of survey procedures, instruments, and technologies.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineering firms, government agencies, and landowners.
- 410 years of relevant experience
- Proficient with survey GPS, laser scanners, Trimble equipment, and data collectors.
- Solid computer literacy and data management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Ability to travel and commit to longer workdays, including overnights.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Associates degree or two-year technical diploma in Surveying Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
- Experience with topographic and construction surveys in utility environments.
