Water/Wastewater Technology Senior Engineer
A leading engineering firm is seeking a Water/Wastewater Technology Senior Engineer to join their Water Practice Group. This role focuses on the planning, design, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
This is an opportunity to work on high-quality, high-profile projects across the nation and internationally. As a Process Engineer, you will be involved in the full project cyclefrom design through construction close-outperforming design tasks to support project execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare contract documents, including detailed plans and specifications.
+ Conduct pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
+ Apply advanced treatment system knowledge, including chemical feed, membranes, and disinfection systems.
+ Perform process modeling for wastewater treatment and resource recovery systems (biosolids, energy, and nutrient management).
+ Prepare construction and design cost estimates.
+ Design water and wastewater pipelines, storage, and treatment systems.
+ Participate in project management, client interface, and business development activities.
+ Make site visits during design and construction phases to observe and document progress.
+ Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelors or graduate degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or NCEES equivalent).
+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
+ Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
+ Proven experience in water and wastewater systems design.
+ Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
+ Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other disciplines.
+ Familiarity with modeling and design software is a plus.
