Mechanical Engineer
Pulp & Paper industry
Location: Greenville, SC
Pay: DOE
Schedule: M-F; Hybrid
Our client is a progressive, growing civil engineering firm.
They are looking for you, an experienced Mechanical Engineer with Pulp & Paper industry experience.
What you get to do:
Design, evaluate, and maintain mechanical systems integrated with civil infrastructure (e.g., foundations for rotating equipment, piping supports, and platforms).
Collaborate with civil engineers to analyze and design structural supports for heavy machinery, tanks, and process lines.
Oversee installation, modification, and repair of mechanical systems and associated structural elements.
Perform condition assessments of existing structures (e.g., foundations, pipe racks, platforms) and develop maintenance or retrofit plans.
Assist with project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling for capital and maintenance projects.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AISC, API, OSHA).
Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
Work closely with mill operations, maintenance, and construction contractors to implement solutions safely and efficiently.
Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical or structural failures.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting in the pulp and paper industry.
Experience in structural design and analysis is required; familiarity with industrial mechanical systems is a plus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD platforms.
