Vaco is working with an amazing client that is seeking a results-driven Cloud & Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure, highly available infrastructure across AWS and Azure. This role will focus heavily on automation, Infrastructure as Code, and performance optimizationensuring the business can operate efficiently, securely, and without disruption.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and skilled in collaborating across technical and business teams. They will also take ownership of innovation through research, development, and the application of modern cloud and automation best practices. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
  • Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Azure ARM templates) and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible) to reduce manual processes and improve system reliability.
  • Collaborate with data, platforms, and security teams to support business objectives and align infrastructure with organizational needs.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions (LogicMonitor, Datadog, Zabbix, SolarWinds) for proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Enhance cloud security posture by applying best practices for identity, access, network, and data protection.
  • Standardize and document infrastructure deployments, operational procedures, and automation workflows.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 35+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • Hands-on experience with both Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, Datadog, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
