SUMMARY

The Project Management Supervisor will manage and oversee the Project Managers. Contributes to establishing procedures that govern interdepartmental responsibilities necessary for project execution at the highest levels. Is a significant contributor to achieving department and company sales and profitability goals.

Your tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises Project Management team members to include, but not limited to; order entry, sales, credits, problem solving, returns, and personnel supervision.
  • Assigns and delegates duties to subordinates as needed.
  • Assists in managing staff hours, schedules, and headcount in the Project Management Department required for volume.
  • Develop new vendor relationships, with an emphasis on geographic location, to be used on current and future projects and expanding our existing vendor network.
  • Assists team with technical and/or logistical issues, customer relationships, and problem solving.
  • Monitors individual employees and department productivity to ensure client, department and corporate goals are met.
  • May supervise, and coordinate with Director and/or Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc...
  • Assists Management in directing and implementing strategic plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Assists Management in implementing standards, policies, and procedures that align with department and corporate goals.
  • Assists Management in analyzing and controlling expenditures of the department to conform with budget requirements. Review and conduct analysis of potential changes to budget or schedule.
  • Assists other departments within the organization to coordinate programs that match the Company's core competencies and support the corporate mission statement.
  • Analyze risks going into a project so that both stakeholders and clients are aware of them and can reach a mutual agreement on how the risk will be shared.
  • Manage the project close out process to properly document all lessons learned and communicate any pertinent client/project issues.
  • Coordinate and assist with the appropriate department(s) and/or person(s) to ensure customer requests and/or needs are met.
  • Understand multiple facets of a project, including: Scope, Metrics, Scheduling/Planning, Deliverables, Resource Utilization, Budget Development and Reporting/Communication. Complete a work breakdown structure to estimate the effort required for each task.
  • Evaluate and recommend products that broaden market share and sales.
  • Pull, process, and/or review daily reports as necessary. Take appropriate action on findings.
  • Reliable attendance is a must.
  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited the duties of Project Manager I and II.

  • Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in productions of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • High Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Intermediate Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • High Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, order processing systems, project management related systems.
  • Other Knowledge/Skills: Attention to detail, Problem Solving, Customer Service, Technical Learning, Time Management, Conflict Management, Process Management, Written Communications, Negotiating, Organizational & Multi-tasking.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (Experience may substitute for Education)
  • 5 years Project Management Experience
  • 1 year Supervisor experience preferred
  • CAPM and/or PMP Certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises staff
