HVAC Technician
Job Description
The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems. The technician will be responsible for tasks such as installing split systems and heat pumps, including gas pipe, sheet metal, PVC, and electric duct installation and routing. Proper handling of refrigerants and system tuning/charging will be essential, along with providing technical direction and on-the-job training. Coordination of construction with other trades and conducting performance tests using specialized tools are part of the daily responsibilities. The technician must adhere to OSHA standards and ensure compliance with appliance standards, traveling to homes and businesses as scheduled.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair heating and air conditioning systems.
Install split systems and heat pumps, including gas pipe, sheet metal, PVC, and electric duct installation and routing.
Handle refrigerants and perform system tuning/charging.
Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
Coordinate construction with other trades.
Conduct performance tests with specialized tools.
Maintain OSHA standards and ensure compliance with appliance standards.
Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled.
Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
Determine customer needs and discuss solution methods.
Repair damaged HVAC systems.
Keep records of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices.
Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources.
Essential Skills
4+ years of experience as an HVAC technician.
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
Proficient with HVAC specialty tools, including sheet metal break, gauges, manometer, hand tools, pipe fitting, acetylene torch.
Ability to balance new systems with HVAC protocols.
Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
EPA 608 Certification.
Valid drivers license and vehicle for site transport.
Working knowledge of boiler systems.
OSHA 10 Hour certification (course can be provided).
High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to continue education in the HVAC field.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
