Job Type: Full Time 40 hours per week position - Monday to Friday
Shift Hours: First Shift - 6:00 AM 2:00 PM

A Brief Overview:

The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks used in CVS Distribution Centers. This role ensures all material-handling equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA standards to support uninterrupted warehouse operations.

What you will do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on all powered industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, making necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Troubleshoot battery charging systems, drive motors, brakes, lift mechanisms, and control systems.
  • Replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment when necessary.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance activities.
  • Order and track parts inventory as needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Provide input on equipment condition and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
  • Support operational teams by responding to urgent repair requests to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Participate in safety training and comply with all CVS Health safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in mechanics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in forklift or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by team lead or manager.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Pay Range:

The typical pay range for this role is: $18.50 - $40.55

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
