What You Will Do:
This position is responsible for supporting the management of all manufacturing activities in support of Centrus goals and objectives, including fabrication, assembly, and supply chain. The Composites Manufacturing Supervisor provides technical guidance and leadership to assure compliance with Centrus and regulatory standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executes the scope of work for composites manufacturing including onload, supply chain, fabrication, schedule and budget.
- Leads and develops processes, procedures and metrics.
- Leads and reports status as required.
- Supports and manages planning and analysis activities.
- Interacts with managers to ensure project interfaces are seamless - no overlaps or gaps, including design, engineering, manufacturing, operations and licensing.
- Responsible for identifying staffing needs, organizing and leading the manufacturing direction.
- Assist in managing the manufacturing equipment and associated systems for manufacturing activities.
- Works with engineering on specifications for all fabrication materials and equipment requirements.
- Establishes procedures for fabrication and assembly processes.
- Ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget.
- Assist in the optimization of the company's policies, processes, and procedures.
- Adheres to company, policies, procedures, code of conduct, security, and environmental and safety program requirements.
- Sponsors lean/6 sigma activities for manufacturing processes.
- Executes the scope of work (including milestones and deliverables) for the assigned Manufacturing Development & Integration activities.
- Manages work and reports upon status periodically as required by management.
- Interacts with other project members to ensure project interfaces are seamless including design, manufacturing, and operations and testing.
- This is a hands-on role so the ability to follow/develop/implement robust procedures and work using your own initiative is essential.

This position requires familiarity with, and adherence to, the requirements of the site safety and health program (Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Protection, Safety Analysis, and OSHA programs) to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment from the effects of accidents involving radiological, chemical, electrical, or physical hazards associated with plant activities.
Organization Structure:
The Composites Manufacturing Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager. Your peers include the Balancing Supervisor, Machine Shop Manager, and Assembly Manager. The role currently has 4 direct reports and matrixed support from the balancing team on a single Monday to Thursday 4-10 schedule. As our organization grows, composites manufacturing will grow to approximately 60 employees over multiple shifts. This role will transition into multiple positions with a lead for every shift and an overall area manager role.
We'd Love to Hear from People With:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A general knowledge of composites manufacturing processes
- At least 2 years of leadership/supervisory/management experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance
The Strongest Candidates also Bring:
- Knowledge of NQA-1 and/or ISO 9000/9001 quality standards
- Experience with filament winding or pre-impregnated tape composite manufacturing over mandrels
- U.S. centrifuge experience is a bonus
- A current DOE Q-level security clearance
- Training and/or experience with lean manufacturing methods

Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
