Position Overview:

GM2 Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in designing electrical systems for various building projects, working closely with senior engineers to develop and refine electrical layouts and drawings that meet project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation of electrical system designs for commercial, municipal, and institutional buildings.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop design concepts, drawings, and schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools.
• Support the preparation of electrical load calculations, lighting design, and power distribution planning.
• Review project specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors.
• Help document design changes and maintain project records.
• Continuously learn and improve understanding of electrical engineering principles and building codes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems, codes and standards (NEC, IECC, local codes)
• Software skills: Familiarity with electrical design software such as AutoCAD and Revit
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Leadership: Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
