Position Title: HVAC Technician

Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Status: Full Time

Pay Rate: $30 - $36/hour

Position Description:

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Duties include reviewing customer specifications, interpreting design documents, integrating systems, reviewing and approving supplier type testing, and providing commissioning support. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as it involves working closely with the client to ensure optimal system performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and operate HVAC equipment, including air conditioning and ventilating systems in commercial and residential buildings.

  • Perform mechanical and electrical inspections, preventive maintenance, and adjustments (e.g., oiling, belt adjustment, greasing, cleaning).

  • Diagnose equipment issues, determine repair needs, and maintain accurate work records.

  • Read and interpret technical instructions and blueprints.

  • Apply knowledge of HVAC principles, safety practices, and common repair methods.

  • Operate and maintain HVAC control systems, including low-voltage installations.

  • Communicate technical information to clients in clear, understandable terms.

  • Serve as company representative with contractors, owners, and trades.

  • Provide preventive maintenance reports and recommend corrective actions.

  • Identify and suggest additional beneficial services to customers.

  • Complete and submit all required documentation promptly.

  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Required Skills/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

  • NC/SC HVAC license preferred.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience with installing low voltage/HVAC controls.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, technical comprehension, and ability to work independently.

  • Proficiency with computers and HVAC-related software tools.
