Engineering Fabrication Estimator

Description

  • Develop detailed quotes for machine parts, fabricated assemblies, hydraulic reservoirs, and structural frame
  • weldments
  • Use quoting software (e.g. Paperless Parts) to generate fixed-cost estimates
  • Analyze customer 2D drawings and 3D models (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, other formats) and generate bills of material using ERP (e.g. Epicor Prophet Develop drawings and BOMs as needed to bridge any gaps between customer supplied details and fabrication

  • Coordinate with the purchasing team to procure materials and coordinate with vendors for material cost

  • Guide shop fabrication team throughout machining, welding, and finishing processes
  • Interpret welding symbols and ensure AWS/ASME welding qualifications are maintained
  • Establish and maintain qualification records for welders per AWS/ASME and ISO-9001 standards
  • Design jigs and fixturing for repeatable production and setup efficiency
  • Conduct non-destructive examination and quality control checks per ISO-9001
  • Specify and estimate coatings (zinc plating, nickel plating, anodizing, paint) and tolerance/dimensioning

Additional Qualifications:

  • Fabrication Experience required
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a machine shop and fabrication environment
  • Proven ability to estimate machined and fabricated parts and weldments
  • Proficiency with quoting software (e.g. Paperless Parts) and AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor
  • Strong sheet metal design experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
