The Robotic Machine Builder / Experienced Mechanical Assembler is responsible for executing the robotic system assembly, specifically mechanical assembly, fabrication, and some electrical wiring and assembly per the engineering schematics and designs. This individual must be self-driven, competent, skilled, and take pride in quality and workmanship and be able to work in a team environment. Knowledge and prior experience with automation systems preferred. Demonstrated project or team leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

Building, fabricating, and assembling robotic automation equipment per the drawings.Reading engineering drawings, bills of materials, equipment spec sheets and manuals, and performing duties with limited supervisionExecute system assembly and disassembly with zero to very few failuresExecute general robotic system installation at customer facilitiesSupport and perform some electrical assemblyFabricate parts in the machine shop on an as needed basis after internal trainingLog all services and report progress to managementMaintain all equipment and tools in excellent working orderMaintain a clean and organized work environmentWork rapidly in order to minimize down times without compromising safety or quality

Work Environment

Most work is performed in the Automation Motion workplace. Travel will be necessary to install and start-up systems at the customer's facility. Overnight travel will be required.

Competencies:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.Vocational School Diploma, completed apprenticeship, comparable amount of training preferred.Experience with conveyors, automation equipment, robotics, or servo-based machines preferredFamiliarity with hardware sizes and specifications preferredExperience with fork lift and moving heavy equipment safely preferredExperience as a machinist preferredSkills: Assembly and fabrication a must; welding experience a plus.Experience reading drawings, schematics, and technical drawingsExperience assembling and installing wire harnesses a plusAble to utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical toolsAbility and willingness to follow all legal and company safety regulationsPhysical ability to complete this type of work, often in demanding environmentsPride in your workAble to work independently with little supervisionFlexible attitude / willingness to learnMust be a Team playerAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyAbility to work well under deadlinesMicrosoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet proficiencyCompany DescriptionFounded in 1994, Automated Motion is a leading robotic system manufacturer specializing in Palletizing, Product Picking, Case Packing, and Material Handling solutions.
