ABOUT THIS ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Utility Operator to support our plant operations in Accokeek, Maryland. This position is primarily responsible or operating multiple pieces of equipment in support of production operations at the quarry.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

* Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, excavators, and backhoes to assist with loading and moving materials (e.g., sand, gravel, aggregate).

* Assist in maintaining equipment by performing routine checks, cleaning, lubricating, and ensuring machinery is in good working condition.

* Transport materials to various locations within the quarry, including stockpiles, processing areas, and loading zones.

* Perform general labor tasks as needed, including digging, lifting, loading, unloading, and clearing debris from work areas.

* Monitor and ensure safe material handling, following proper procedures for loading, unloading, and transporting materials around the quarry.

* Assist with site preparation for construction projects by grading, leveling, and clearing the land for various operations.

* Follow safety guidelines and work closely with other team members to ensure compliance with safety regulations, including MSHA standards.

* Perform basic maintenance on equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team or supervisor.

* Help with daily setup and teardown of equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are in place for the next shift.

* Assist in the maintenance of worksite cleanliness, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
