implements About the Position This exciting opportunity will be at the center of our growth efforts managing one or more of the Company's roadway construction projects in the Miami-Dade area. The Project Manager implements the Company's Project Management Policies and procedures. This includes coordinating the project's schedule, resource allocation (labor, material, and equipment), and permanently updating all applicable reports and filing obligations for the project. The ultimate goal of the project manager's role is the timely and on-budget delivery of complex construction projects and in dutiful compliance with all its reporting and regulatory commitments. Among the duties a successful project manager will be responsible for we can list the following: o Responsible for identifying the necessary resources for each phase of the project, the time when they will be needed, and making the appropriate arrangements to ensure they will be available at that time (project personnel, subcontractors, equipment, material). o Directs and coordinates activities of the project team (including sub-consultants). o Ensures the Company is properly compensated for all works performed in the project, paying special attention to works and or resources beyond the scope of the original project budget; ensuring that these requests are properly documented and that they are undertaken only upon proper authorization o Maintaining the project schedule and keeping an updated measurement of the progress of the project both from a physical and a financial standpoint. o Representing the Company at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews pertaining to this project o Effectively communicating with the project's Team and Client to move the project forward and achieve an effective performance o Controlling the project's costs and reducing waste to ensure its maximum profitability. o Preparing invoices and payment requisitions in a timely fashion, securing its approvals throughout their customary processing, and minimizing the possibility of errors. o Assist with collections efforts when needed. Some of the skills we are looking for are: o Proficient knowledge of State (FDOT) design criteria, standards, and plan preparation requirements. o Knowledge in Horizontal and Vertical Alignment, Drainage, Maintenance of Traffic, Signing and Pavement Markings, and design or coordination of other disciplines such as - Signalization, Lighting, Utilities, Structures, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Tolling. o Knowledge in excavation, earth moving works, and construction of pavements o Professional knowledge of the functioning and construction of drainage systems o Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the project development process. o Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. o Management skills required to lead and direct a team of professionals, construction workers, engineers, and sub-consultants. o Ability to anticipate problems and resourcefulness to tackle and solve unpredictable problems. o Ability to prepare, maintain, and manage project budgets and schedules o Working knowledge of scheduling applications (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) o Proficiency in the complete suite of MS Office Applications. Especially MS Excel. Experience Requirements: A minimum of five years of relevant experience are required. Education/Licensure: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required. Licensed, or eligible to become licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida.
